UK Status
Resident. Widespread and fairly common throughout much of the British Isles, more local in northern England and Scotland.
Montgomeryshire Status
First recorded in 2014 at Middletown in the east of the county. Prior to that, not recorded in north Wales since 2006.
Wingspan :
M & F 12-15mm.
Confusion species
Endothenia ericetana.
Flight time & Voltinity

Habitat
Wherever the foodplant is found.
Foodplant
Marsh woundwort and spear mint.
Lifestage data
Root feeder. Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva feeds on the roots lining the galleries with silk. Pupates 'spun up' in the soil.
